Mr Athula Gamage

Athula Gamage has been the Contract Manager and Data Integrity Officer for the Systems Neuroscience Theme at the Florey since April 2023. He began his legal career overseas in 2001 and was admitted as an Australian lawyer in March 2024.

As the Contract Manager, Athula drafts, negotiates, and manages contracts, ensuring compliance with both regulatory standards and internal policies. He is responsible for risk management, enforcing contract terms, and advising on the legal implications of commercial transactions. His oversight spans the full contract lifecycle, from initiation through to completion.

As the Data Integrity Officer of CREDOS-Biotech, Athula supports the Systems Neuroscience theme by overseeing project progress and coordinating with team members to ensure the timelines are met. He also designs programs and document management systems that streamline the theme’s operations, contributing to greater efficiency.

Athula’s career began overseas in the public sector in 1979, where he worked for key government departments and led major automation projects. He holds various technical qualifications in computer programming, networking, database management, and computer systems security. His legal career overseas included diverse roles, where he practised law in various capacities.
